Six months ago we started an innovative project in the field of science and technology museum, the co-creation with users of Internet exposure, the changes that we have generated and the technology that lies at the basis of these changes, Expolab . Born as a proposal for the Newton's Mandarina to Citilab Cornellà des of the principle was assisted by the Tech Museum in San Jose, California.
We started with classroom workshops, where among all the subjects chose the exhibition.
During the months of February and March, participants from around the world contributed their proposals for implementation through the Second Life platform.
On 7 and 8 April opened the contest to a popular vote both online and face to face. The proposal of Mary Bobes, Connections, was the winner. Finally, this month was June when we could have ready the final design of the first exhibition "From the contemplation, participation, and beyond," co-created with citizens from all over the world.
Based on the modules chosen by the public: Connections, photography, digital heaven, bank of ideas and what is your opinion on the safety, we have worked on details and on the homogeneity of the whole.
This is a little will look the 7 modules we have developed:
From now begin the construction work, to finally be able to see how many people's contribution is embodied in a physical exhibition!
However, do not think that participation has ended, we still have many stages in which we have ideas, requests and suggestions of all. The proposal is to open this material and share the results for those who want to make new reinterpretations, or want to play with this material feel free to do so. Our intention is to encourage reflection on the changes wrought by the Internet and encourage everyone to adapt to your world this collective proposal. The Tangerine Des Newton, I hope to continue working on this line, because I think it really is much to discover ...
In fact, the Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona ( CCCB) have already begun to open a line of work, cult20 and during the months of April and May did several workshops for professionals in cultural institutions .
Many thanks to all who have participated and shown much interest in this project!
